Formal Dining - When you have a more substantial home or have a tendency to execute a lot of entertaining, a more formal table may suit your design aesthetic. Select a large table with a dark wood for a normal and upscale look or choose a stylish set with grand tufted chairs and ornate woodwork to impress your guests. If you prefer a more modern look, an all-white design will exude the modern day sophistication you crave.
No real matter what shape you decide on for a dining table, you should allow at least three feet between your table edge and an obstruction like a server or wall. This provides sufficient space for individuals to move across the table, and in and out off their seats. Alternatively, more than six feet remaining between one wall or obstruction and the table means that the set is too small.
